Classic Car Financing

Classic car financing is very similar to getting financed for a brand new car. The things a bank wants to see is job stability and income, decent credit, and possibly a down payment. There are ways to get around some of these things except for the proof of income.

When you want classic car financing as you would want financing for any vehicle a lender wants to see proof of income. Paystubs are the preferred proof of income. Some people contract and don’t have any way to prove they have a job, even though they make a lot of money. For instance, they might work from home and receive deposits into their bank account. This doesn’t work. You must have paystubs for proof of income.

Classic car financing also requires proof of employment. You must have a job that is verifiable. In addition to a verifiable job you must be employed in the same field or industry for a minimum of two years. If you show a history of jumping from job to job and industry to industry you will look like a risk to a lender.

Your credit score should be decent if you want classic car financing. You can pay off as much on your report as you can before you apply for a loan. Many lenders will still give you financing if you have bad credit. They will just give you a bad interest rate.

Classic car loans can be very easy to get if the car is worth a lot of money. If you are trying to get a car that needs a lot of work but blue books at a very high value once it is fixed it may be easy to get the loan. The lender is more willing to give a loan for a vehicle if it will maintain the value. They will want to know what you are going to do with the car though. If you plan on driving it every day or leaving it parked in a garage besides times where it will be in auto shows will make a big difference.

When you are trying to get classic car financing it is important to remember that you should have reasonable credit so your interest rate is not too high, longevity in the same field of work, and proof of income.
